ASSEMBLY

From IFC model to an assembly drawing per build step

From the same IFC model you produce from, Beamcore creates the build sequence on site: per step an assembly drawing with dimensions, the 3D model up to that step and the parts. Work preparation releases the steps, and the assembly crew or assembly company sees exactly what has been released, on the computer or in the app. Assembly add-on, 59 euro per month per licence.

BUILD SEQUENCE

Assembly steps in a fixed order

The project's Montage (Assembly) tab shows the build sequence per level: sole plates, ground floor, walls, upper floor, wall plates, walls of the upper level, flat roof, roof elements and loose material. Each step lists the groups from the drawing software it contains. Work preparation releases steps for assembly, one at a time or all at once.

  • Order adjustable per project, with a button back to the standard order
  • Assembly only sees what has been released, in the model version that was released
  • A new model version only reaches assembly after releasing again
  • Also works with only the Assembly add-on: you then choose the IFC model on the Assembly tab

ASSEMBLY DRAWING

One sheet per step, dimensioned all round

Each step is an A3 sheet like the production drawing: a header with project and step, the top view with the steps below in grey, the element list on the right and the title block with your client's logo at the bottom right. The shape of every part comes from the model, so a notch stays a notch and an opening stays white.

  • Grid lines and one origin for all steps
  • Intermediate, running and overall dimensions; each side dimensions its own outer edge
  • Roof elements dimensioned along the eaves, with the gaps between them
  • Overall assembly drawing with all steps together
  • The project's PDF 2D set next to the sheet, also in full screen
  • PDF per step or all steps at once

3D AND MEASURING

The model up to this step

Next to the sheet is the 3D model up to the selected step: the step itself in colour, what is already standing in grey, what is still to come hidden. You operate the drawing like the production drawing, with zoom, fit and full screen.

  • Measure in the top view and in 3D, snapping to corners and edges
  • Measurements stay as dimension lines until you clear them
  • Click an element for its data and the adjoining elements, with an enlarged detail per joint
  • Open the whole model in the 3D viewer

ASSEMBLY COMPANIES AND PLANNING

Who assembles what, and when

Record your own assembly crew and external assembly companies. A user of an assembly company only sees their own projects and steps, in the portal, in the app and in the PDF. In the assembly planning you place the steps as bars in a planning of several weeks, per crew.

  • Drag bars and stretch them at the edge, drop steps from the list onto a day
  • Linked to the production planning: a step only starts after the last production day of its elements
  • Planning a step gives the assembly company access to it
  • The Assembly tab and the Assembly menu show when a step will be assembled

COMPOSITIONS

Assemble a dormer or corner wall as a whole

Elements that are joined into one composition in the factory are also assembled as a whole. Per assembly step you see which composition it contains, with the elements, transport, expected delivery and status. An element that already arrives with a composition from an earlier step is not listed loose again.

  • Work drawing of the composition with a 3D overview, also for users with only Assembly
  • Visible on the Assembly tab, in the Assembly menu and in the assembly planning
  • A notice when a step has no assembly work of its own as a result

ASSEMBLY IN THE APP

Take the drawing to the building site

The assembly crew opens the released steps in the Beamcore app on phone or tablet: the top view with measuring, the 3D model up to the step and the parts list, with previous and next step. Work preparation can also release and withdraw steps in the app.

  • The standard Montage (Assembly) role only sees the Assembly menu, no projects or prices
  • Open and share the PDF of a step

WHY IT WORKS

One model from drawing office to building site

01

Same IFC model

Production and assembly read the same model. No more separate assembly drawings by hand.

02

Only what is released

The building site only sees the steps that work preparation has released.

03

Own crew or partner

An assembly company only sees its own projects and steps.

04

Linked to production

You plan assembly only after the production day of the elements.

Frequently asked questions

Assembly costs 59 euro per month per licence, on top of your plan. With a yearly subscription you pay for 11 months.
No. With only Assembly you choose the IFC model on the Assembly tab. If you also have Production, both use the same model.
Beamcore reads an IFC export from your timber frame drawing software, for example hsbCAD, with the elements as assemblies.
Yes. You link the assembly company to a project, with all released steps or a selection. Their users only see that, also in the app.
Assembly keeps seeing the released version until work preparation releases the steps again. So a drawing on site never changes unnoticed.
