Price settings: margins and selling prices of material

Robin van Maasakker · 28 Oct 2026

Beamcore calculates the selling price of material from the purchase price with the margins you set. You find it under Administratie → Prijsinstellingen (Administration → Price settings). Viewing requires the permission to view orders, saving requires the permission to order. All amounts exclude VAT. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.

Setting margins

  1. Choose the Methode (Method): Opslag op inkoopprijs (Markup on purchase price; 25% on €100 gives €125) or Brutomarge op verkoopprijs (Gross margin on selling price; 25% on €100 gives €133.33).
  2. Fill in the Standaardmarge voor alle materialen (Default margin for all materials), optionally a separate margin for structural timber, sheet material, insulation and hardware, and the Minimale toegestane marge (Minimum allowed margin).
  3. With Subcategorie toevoegen (Add subcategory) you add a different margin for, for example, screws or angle brackets.
  4. Choose whether the selling price is rounded up and whether it follows automatically when the purchase price changes. Click Opslaan (Save).

The Rekenvoorbeeld (Calculation example) shows per category what a purchase of €100 costs your customer.

Which price applies

Beamcore chooses the price in this order: an agreed customer price, the fixed selling price of the item, the item's own margin, the subcategory margin, the category margin and finally the default margin. You set a fixed price or own margin at the item under Artikelgegevens (Item details). In the Prijzen (Prices) block of the item you see which rule applies.

A new purchase price

With Prijs wijzigen (Change price) on an item you record a new purchase price with a start date. What is already in stock keeps the price it was bought for. In the Voorraad per inkoopprijs (Stock per purchase price) block you see per batch what is still in stock and at what price.

Items in a quote or invoice

Every line of a quote or invoice has the field Artikel uit voorraad (Item from stock). Search by item number or name and choose the item: the description, unit, VAT and the selling price according to your price rules are filled in, with the agreements for that customer. After that you can simply adjust the line. If no price is known, you see that and fill it in yourself.
