The timber list (cutting list) of a project determines what timber you need. You import it as a PDF on the project. Beamcore reads the cutting lines from the PDF and calculates how many bars of which stock length are needed. Always check the result before you make the list final. This belongs to the Houtvoorraad & Materiaalplanning (Timber stock & Material planning) add-on and requires the Houtlijst importeren, reserveren en uitgeven (Import timber list, reserve and issue) permission. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.
Importing the timber list
- Open the project and go to the Productie & materiaal (Production & material) tab. There you see the tables Materiaal (Material) and Houtlijsten (Timber lists).
- Click Houtlijst importeren (Import timber list).
- Under Houtlijst (PDF) (Timber list, PDF), choose the file. Only PDF is allowed, up to 5 MB.
- Click Importeren (Import). You go straight to the check page of the list.
An import always comes in as provisional. If a provisional list was still open, it is replaced.
Checking the result
At the top of the check page you see how many cutting lines and pieces were found and whether the checksum is correct. If it is not, quantities or lengths differ from the PDF and you have to go through the lines.
- Standaarden voor deze lijst (Defaults for this list): a timber list often does not mention a wood species or strength class. What you enter here applies to all lines where they are missing. The default comes from the company settings.
- Zaagregels (Cutting lines): the lines from the PDF with quantity, length and cross-section. You can edit or delete lines, or add them with Zaagregel toevoegen (Add cutting line).
- Behoefte (Requirement): per cross-section the stock lengths and the number of pieces needed. With Artikel toevoegen of vervangen (Add or replace item) you choose a different item, with Aantal handmatig zetten (Set quantity manually) you fix a quantity yourself and with Opnieuw laten voorstellen (Have it proposed again) you drop your own choices for that cross-section.
If you do not carry a cross-section as an item yet, Beamcore proposes the nearest heavier one. You can also create a new item if you are allowed to manage stock.
The statuses of a timber list
- Voorlopig (Provisional): read in and still to be checked. The list does not count in the material planning yet.
- Definitief (Final): the material requirement of the project.
- Vervangen (Replaced): an earlier final version that has been succeeded by a newer one.
The Houtlijsten table lists every version with status and checksum. Via PDF you download the original file.
Making it final
- On the check page, click Definitief maken (Make final).
- If the checksum is not correct, tick that you have seen the deviation and have checked the lines.
- Confirm.
The list becomes the material requirement of the project and replaces an earlier version. The timber that is freely in stock is reserved for this project immediately. What is missing goes on the order list. Existing reservations and orders remain. If you do not want to use the import after all, choose Voorlopige lijst verwijderen (Delete provisional list).
Reserving material
The Materiaal table on the project shows per item the columns Benodigd (Required), Op voorraad (In stock), Gereserveerd (Reserved), Vrij beschikbaar (Freely available), Te reserveren (To be reserved), In bestelling (On order) and Bij te bestellen (To be reordered).
- Reserveer voor project (Reserve for project): links the free stock to this project in one go. What is missing goes on the order list.
- Reserveren (Reserve) on a line: reserve a quantity of your own choice of one item.
- Vrijgeven (Release) on a line: give part of the reservation back to the free stock.
- Niet meer nodig (No longer needed): appears if the project has reservations it no longer needs, and releases them.
Reserved timber stays in stock, but no longer counts as free for other projects. How you then cut and issue is explained in Creating a cutting plan and issuing material.
