Searching, navigating and switching between companies

The menu on the left shows all sections you have access to, grouped by subject. You do not have to click through it to get somewhere: Beamcore has a search function for the menu, a search field for data and a search field in every list. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.

Searching the menu

With the menu search you jump straight to a page. You open it in three ways:

  • Press / on your keyboard. This does not work while you are typing in an input field.
  • Press Ctrl+K (Windows) or Cmd+K (Mac). This always works.
  • Click Zoeken in menu... (Search the menu...) at the top of the sidebar.

Then type part of the name of the page. You can also search by the name of the menu group: if you type "bedrijf" (company), you see the pages from that group. To the right of each result is the group the page belongs to.

  1. Choose a result with the up and down arrow keys.
  2. Press Enter to open the page. Hold down Ctrl or Cmd to open the page in a new tab.
  3. Press Esc to close the search.

If you open the search without typing anything, the pages you visited most recently are at the top under Recent, followed by the rest of the menu under Alles (All). That list of recent pages is stored in your browser. So on another device or in a private window you start with an empty list. The search only shows pages you have access to yourself.

Searching for data

In the top bar is the Zoeken (Search) field. You use it to search not for pages but for data, such as a project or a customer by name. With the Offertes & Facturatie (Quotes & Invoicing) add-on you also find quotes and invoices by number here. Click a result to open it.

Searching in a list

Lists such as CRM → Projecten (CRM → Projects) and CRM → Klanten (CRM → Customers) have their own search field above the list. That field only searches the list you are in at that moment. For customers, for example, you search by name, email address or town.

Switching between companies

If you are a member of more than one company, the top bar has a button with the name of the company you are currently working in. If you are a member of one company, you do not see this button.

  1. Click the company name in the top bar.
  2. Under Bedrijf wisselen (Switch company), choose the company you want to go to. You recognise the active company by the tick.

After switching you land on the dashboard of the chosen company. Everything you see after that, such as projects, customers and settings, belongs to that company. Your role and permissions can differ per company, so the menu can look different after switching.

Light or dark theme

By default the portal follows the setting of your device. If you want something different, open the user menu at the top right. There you choose between the light theme, the dark theme and the system theme with the three icons. That choice applies to the browser in which you make it.
