Getting started

Creating your first customer and project

Robin van Maasakker · 13 Oct 2026

After you log in for the first time, Beamcore shows you what is in your menu in a short tour. After that, two things are needed to really get to work: a customer and a project. A project always belongs to a customer, so start there. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.

The tour

The tour appears once, on your first visit to the portal. Each step explains a section of your menu in one or two sentences. Because the steps come from your own menu, a colleague with a different role or without a certain add-on sees a different series.

  • Use Volgende (Next) and Vorige (Previous) to go through the steps. At the top you see which step you are on.
  • Use Bekijk deze module (nieuw tabblad) (View this module, new tab) to open the section in a new tab, so the tour stays where it is.
  • Use Overslaan (Skip) to close the tour immediately. At the last step you finish with Aan de slag (Get started).

After you finish or skip the tour, it does not come back.

Creating a customer

To create a customer you need the Klant aanmaken (Create customer) permission. The admin role has it by default, and an owner can always do it.

  1. Go to CRM → Klanten (CRM → Customers) and click Nieuwe klant (New customer).
  2. Under Bedrijfsgegevens (Company details), fill in the Bedrijfsnaam (Company name). This is the only required field. Optionally, fill in the KVK-nummer (Chamber of Commerce number), the BTW-nummer (VAT number), Algemeen email (General email) and Telefoon (Phone) and add a Logo.
  3. Under Adres (Address), fill in the street, the number, the postcode and the town. The Land (Country) field is set to NL by default.
  4. Under Intern (Internal), use the Interne notities (Internal notes) field for remarks that are only meant for your own team.
  5. Save the customer.

Creating a project

For a new project you need the Project aanmaken (Create project) permission. The admin role has that by default as well.

  1. Go to CRM → Projecten (CRM → Projects) and click Nieuw project (New project).
  2. Fill in the Naam (Name) of the project.
  3. Leave Projectnummer (Project number) empty if Beamcore may assign a number automatically. If you keep your own series, fill in the number yourself.
  4. Under Klant (Customer), choose the customer you have just created. You can also search here by name, town or email address, or add a new customer directly via the plus icon.
  5. Choose a Status and a Prioriteit (Priority). Both are required.
  6. Optionally fill in the Startdatum (Start date), the Einddatum (End date) and an Omschrijving (Description).
  7. Save the project.

Under Gekoppelde gebruikers (Linked users) you choose who gets access to the project. If someone is not in the list, you invite that person via the plus icon next to that field.

The parts of the project

At the bottom of the form is the Planning onderdelen (Planning parts) block. It is already filled with your default parts. Per project you can remove parts, adjust the working days or add an extra part with Onderdeel toevoegen (Add part). If your company has project templates, you choose a template under Sjabloon (bouwtype) (Template, building type) to load its parts. You only see this block when creating a project, no longer when editing an existing one.

Mind the project limit

Every subscription has a maximum number of projects per year: 25 with Starter, 75 with Groei and 200 with Pro. Once that number has been reached, you can no longer create a new project. Owners find the current usage on the dashboard, see Arranging the dashboard with widgets.
