Besides a PDF cutting list, Beamcore can also take the timber from an IFC model or a BVX file. For sheet material you import a separate sheet list. Both require the Houtlijst importeren, reserveren en uitgeven (Import timber list, reserve and issue) permission. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.
A timber list from an IFC model or BVX file
- In the project, go to the Materiaal (Material) tab and click Houtlijst importeren (Import timber list).
- Under Houtlijst (PDF, IFC of BVX) (Timber list (PDF, IFC or BVX)) choose the complete IFC model or the BVX file from your drawing software.
- A BVX file is read immediately. An IFC model is read in the background; for a large model this can take a few minutes and you get a notification when it is done.
- Check the cutting lines and finalise the list, just as with a PDF cutting list.
From an IFC model or BVX file Beamcore only takes the timber: beams and battens. Sheets belong in a sheet list.
Importing a sheet list
- In the project, go to the Plaatmateriaal (Sheet material) tab and click Plaatlijst importeren (Import sheet list). Choose the PDF sheet list from your drawing software.
- Beamcore reads the pieces and nests them onto the standard sheets from your stock. This can take a minute.
- Under Platen nodig (Sheets needed) you see per kind and thickness how many pieces and sheets are needed and how well the sheets are used. Indeling (Layout) shows how the pieces lie on each sheet.
- If there is no suitable sheet, choose one with Plaat kiezen (Choose sheet). Automatisch kiezen (Choose automatically) lets Beamcore choose again.
- Check the pieces and click Definitief maken (Finalise). After that the sheets take part in reserving, ordering and issuing, just like the timber.
Nesting settings
Under Bedrijf → Bedrijfsinstellingen (Company → Company settings), tab Houtvoorraad (Timber stock), block Plaatmateriaal (Sheet material), you set the Zaagsnede (mm) (Saw kerf, mm; 4 by default), the Randafzaag per kant (mm) (Edge trim per side, mm) and whether Stukken mogen draaien (Pieces may rotate). Switch rotating off if the grain or load-bearing direction of the sheet must be respected. You add the sheet sizes themselves under Stock with Nieuwe plaat (New sheet).
