Setting up Transport and loading: transport racks and trucks

Robin van Maasakker · 29 Oct 2026

With the Transport & laden (Transport & loading) add-on (€149 per month), you plan how the timber frame elements of a project go on transport: on which truck, on which rack and in which order. You then record loading and delivery in Beamcore. The elements come from the IFC model you processed in the Productie (Production) or Montage (Assembly) tab of the project. The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.

You find everything in the Transport menu: Beladingsplanner (Load planner), Transportbokken (Transport racks), Vrachtwagens (Trucks) and Laden (Loading).

Who can do what

  • The admin, drafter and planner roles can view the Load planner. The admin and planner roles can create and change transports.
  • The admin and planner roles can manage transport racks and trucks.
  • The admin, planner and workshop roles can report elements as loaded and sign off a transport.

Recording transport racks

You record your racks once. After that you use them in every project.

  1. Go to Transport → Transportbokken (Transport racks) and click Nieuwe transportbok (New transport rack).
  2. Enter the Boknummer (Rack number, for example B-01), optionally a Naam (Name), and choose the Type: A-frame rack, L-frame rack, flat rack or custom type.
  3. Under Maten en gewicht (Dimensions and weight), enter the length, width and height, and optionally the Eigen gewicht (Own weight) and the Maximaal laadgewicht (Maximum load). If you leave the load empty, Beamcore does not check the weight.
  4. Under Bruikbare laadruimte (Usable load space), enter the space the elements really fit in. Empty means: equal to the outer dimensions.
  5. Under Overstek (Overhang), enter how far an element may stick out at the front and back of the rack. Empty means: not recorded, and the usable length is the limit.
  6. Choose the Toegestane beladingszijde(n) (Allowed loading sides): left, right or on top (flat).

You cannot delete a rack that is already on a transport. Set it to inactive with the Actief (Active) switch instead.

Recording trucks

  1. Go to Transport → Vrachtwagens (Trucks) and click Nieuwe vrachtwagen (New truck).
  2. Enter the Kenteken of voertuignummer (Registration or vehicle number), optionally a Naam (Name), and choose the Soort (Kind): truck, semi-trailer, trailer or other.
  3. Under Laadvloer en grenzen (Load floor and limits), enter the Lengte laadvloer (Load floor length) and Breedte laadvloer (Load floor width). With the Hoogte laadvloer (Load floor height), the Maximale totale hoogte (Maximum total height) and the Laadvermogen (Payload), Beamcore also checks height and weight. Vrije ruimte voor de eerste bok (Free space before the first rack) and Vrije ruimte tussen beladen bokken (Free space between loaded racks) set the spacing on the load floor.
  4. To have the axle loads checked, fill in everything under Aslast (optioneel) (Axle load, optional). If something is missing, Beamcore skips this check.
  5. Under Kosten (voor de goedkoopste belading) (Costs, for the cheapest load), enter at least the Kosten per rit (Cost per trip). Without that cost, Beamcore cannot reliably calculate the cheapest load.

A truck that is on a transport is also set to inactive instead of deleted.
