Managing customers

Robin van Maasakker · 13 Oct 2026

A customer in Beamcore is the company you carry out a project for. Every project belongs to one customer, and the contacts of that customer can get access to their projects. You manage customers under CRM → Klanten (CRM → Customers). The Beamcore interface is in Dutch, so button and menu names are shown in Dutch with a translation.

The customer list

The page is visible if your role has the permission Klantenlijst zien (See customer list). At the top there are four tiles: Totaal klanten (Total customers), Klanten met projecten (Customers with projects), Actieve projecten (Active projects) and Recent toegevoegd (Recently added). The last one counts the customers of the past 30 days.

For each customer you see the town, the number of projects, the number of contacts, the status and the latest activity. With the Quotes & Invoicing add-on you also see the number of outstanding invoices. Just as with projects, you switch views with Lijst (List) and Kaarten (Cards).

There are three filters:

  • Archief (Archive): Alle (All), Alleen gearchiveerd (Archived only) or Alleen actief (Active only).
  • Zonder gekoppelde gebruikers (Without linked users): customers that nobody is linked to yet.
  • Zonder projecten (Without projects).

Adding a new customer

  1. Click Nieuwe klant (New customer) at the top right. The button is only there if you are allowed to create customers.
  2. Fill in the section Bedrijfsgegevens (Company details). Only Bedrijfsnaam (Company name) is required. In addition there are the fields KVK-nummer (Chamber of Commerce number), BTW-nummer (VAT number), Algemeen email (General email), Telefoon (Phone) and Logo.
  3. Fill in the section Adres (Address): Straat (Street), Nummer (Number), Postcode, Plaats (Town) and Land (Country). You enter the country as a two-letter code and it is set to NL by default.
  4. If needed, expand the section Intern (Internal) for Interne notities (Internal notes).
  5. Save the customer.

The logo may be a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG of at most 5 MB. Without a logo, Beamcore shows the initials of the customer.

You can also create a customer while you are creating a project, using the plus icon next to the Klant (Customer) field. There you only fill in the company name, the email address, the phone number and the Chamber of Commerce number. You complete the rest later on the customer page.

Archiving a customer

If you no longer work for a customer, archive it instead of deleting it. An archived customer can no longer be chosen for a new project. The customer itself and the existing projects stay in place.

  • One customer: open the customer, click edit and switch on the toggle Gearchiveerd (Archived) in the Intern section. If you switch the toggle off again, the customer is active once more.
  • Several customers: tick the customers in the list and choose the bulk action Archiveren (Archive).

In the list you recognise an archived customer by the status Gearchiveerd. With the Archief filter you hide them or look them up again.

The tabs on a customer

Click Bekijken (View) in the list to open a customer. Below the details there are two tabs.

  • Gebruikers (Users): the people who are linked to this customer, with their job title and whether they are the primary contact. Via Bestaande gebruiker koppelen (Link existing user) and Nieuwe gebruikers uitnodigen (Invite new users) you give contacts access. How that works is explained in the articles about users and access.
  • Projecten (Projects): all projects of this customer with number, name, status and end date. This tab is for viewing only. Use Openen (Open) to go to the project.

You create a new project for this customer from the project list, see Creating and setting up a project.
